Fund Advisor: Christina Denny
This fund was created by the Martin Denny family at the time of Martin’s death in March 2005. Martin Denny’s “exotica” style became famous in the 1950s, and experienced another surge of popularity in the 1990s, bringing Martin a new round of fame and fortune. This fund will further Martin’s desire to help young musicians achieve success in music, as he did.
The most recent activity of the Denny Fund was the restoration of Martin’s vintage Baldwin grand piano, which resides in Studio 909 at the Musicians Association of Hawaii in Honolulu. Martin’s piano now gets regular use in rehearsals, student recitals, and concerts of all kinds, and has become a valuable resource for many students and their teachers.
